5-Day Mid-Range Joining Safari with Mount Kilimanjaro

Your adventure begins with a morning pick-up from your hotel, where you will meet your professional safari guide and chef before setting off on an approximately two-hour drive to Tarangire National Park. Renowned for its majestic baobab trees, diverse landscapes, and large elephant herds, Tarangire offers an unforgettable introduction to Tanzania’s wildlife.

Enjoy a thrilling game drive through the park in search of elephants, lions, cheetahs, leopards, giraffes, wildebeest, zebras, and many other fascinating animals roaming freely in their natural habitat.

Around midday, pause for a picnic lunch at a scenic spot near the Tarangire River, where you can enjoy the beautiful surroundings and watch for wildlife gathering nearby. Keep an eye on your belongings, as playful monkeys and baboons may try to sneak a bite of your lunch!

After lunch, continue your game drive, exploring more of this remarkable wilderness before heading to your accommodation for the evening.

After breakfast, you will depart from Mto wa Mbu and journey toward the legendary Serengeti National Park, passing through the scenic Ngorongoro Conservation Area. The drive takes approximately six hours, depending on road conditions and stops along the way. En route, you will stop at the famous Ngorongoro Crater viewpoint to admire the spectacular panoramic views and capture memorable photographs.

You will also have the option to visit a traditional Maasai village for an introduction to the community’s rich cultural heritage, traditional lifestyle, and customs. This cultural experience is optional and costs approximately USD 20–30 per person, payable separately.

By late afternoon, you will enter the Serengeti and enjoy a game drive in the Seronera region, renowned for its abundant wildlife and excellent opportunities to spot big cats. Look out for lions, leopards, cheetahs, elephants, giraffes, and other animals as you explore the vast savannah. With a little luck, you may witness predators displaying their natural hunting behaviour.

After an exciting afternoon in the wilderness, you will proceed to your campsite or lodge for dinner and an overnight stay beneath the African sky.

After an early breakfast, you'll set out on a morning game drive, observing a diverse range of wildlife until early afternoon. Return to the camp for lunch and pack up before heading out for another game drive as you exit the Serengeti. From there, you'll continue to Simba Campsite near the rim of the Ngorongoro Crater, a scenic 2-hour drive.

After an early breakfast, you'll descend into the Ngorongoro Crater in search of the rare black rhino. While the crater’s unique terrain offers excellent visibility for spotting wildlife, the black rhino remains one of the most elusive creatures to find. Following lunch, you'll enjoy another game drive before ascending the crater and returning to camp to pack. You'll then head back to Arusha, where you'll stay at Summit Safari Lodge.

After an early breakfast, you will travel to Mount Kilimanjaro National Park for an unforgettable day hike on the slopes of Africa’s highest mountain. Accompanied by an experienced mountain guide, you will begin your trek through lush tropical rainforest, surrounded by towering trees, beautiful vegetation, and the sounds of the forest.

As you ascend, discover Kilimanjaro’s diverse ecosystems and enjoy spectacular views of the surrounding landscapes. Along the trail, your guide will introduce you to the mountain’s unique flora and fauna while you take regular breaks to rest, enjoy the scenery, and capture memorable photographs. Depending on the route and weather conditions, you may enjoy views of the majestic summit and the plains stretching far below.

After an enriching day of hiking and exploring the mountain’s natural beauty, you will descend to the starting point and meet your driver for the journey back to Arusha. You will then be dropped off at your hotel, bringing your Tanzanian adventure to a memorable close.
